About the Author

Cullen Roche is the Founder and CIO of Discipline Funds where he oversees portfolio management and product development. He is a member of the Board of ETF Trustees at Cambria Investments and a graduate of Georgetown University. He started his career at Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management and has founded several of his own financial firms since setting out on his own in 2005. He wrote the popular book Pragmatic Capitalism and manages the website of the same name. His papers “Understanding the Modern Monetary System” and “Understanding Modern Portfolio Construction” are some of the most popular research papers in the SSRN database. He grew up in Washington DC with seven brothers and sisters before moving to San Diego, CA with his wife Erica and daughters Della and Liv.
